Hallo zusammen,

* http://mitglieder.wikimedia.at/Archiv/2011-09_Grant_Agreement

Unser "Program Plan" bzw.

Manuel

Dear all,

As promised, here is the draft grant agreement for your review. I hope
that the substantial points that we discussed are in here.

You will notice that there is quite a bit of legal language in there.
Don't let that overwhelm you. ;) The language is there mostly to ensure
that we a) ensure that it is clear that our organizations are
independent to protect you from legal challenges relating to content on
the projects; b) don't get in trouble with US or other country's laws
relating to international grants; c) so that we actually have an
agreement that, in the very remote chance that things go wrong on either
end or with a third party, we have a solid document to go to a court
with. That being said, I'm going to work with Geoff Brigham next week to
see if there are areas that can be simplified.

One issue that WM-Australia raised on our call is the idea of making the
grant renewable, so that we don't have to start fresh next year again.
I think it is a good idea and will try to work on something that
provides greater medium term stability.

Happy to have your feedback on the agreement before we finalize.

Best,
Barry

Hi Wikimedia Austria board and advisers:

Hope all is well. I want to follow up on our good conversation at
Wikimania following the WMF Board's letter about fundraising.

I would like to propose that we work together to put a grant
agreement in place that would provide the funding needed to support
the work of WM Austria over the next year and can for the basis for
longer term funding support for the chapter's work. I will be
working on a grant agreement over the next week, but the basic
arrangement will aim to provide the funding that you have sought in
your fundraising program plan for 2012. The requirements will be
quite simple - you'll still need to complete the program plan and
you'll need to continue to provide regular activity and financial
reports, which are consistent with your obligations to your members
and the Wikimedia movement. We will not add additional requirements
to the grant and overall it should be easier to comply with than the
fundraising agreement. I plan to have the agreement ready soon and
we should be able to sign the grant by mid-September at the latest.

This arrangement will enable you to have certainty that your plan
will be funded for the year and you won't need to dedicate
additional time and energy to the administration of the fundraiser.
If during the year there are additional needs, you'll continue to
have access to the pre-existing grants process.

I hope that this approach works well for you. I look forward to
    following up soon.

    Best,
    Barry
