I had some basic questions like: What is mediawiki and how to start to contribute in testing, what are mediawiki extensions etc,.The usual newbie questions. As i am interested in exploratory testing, Zeljko suggested that Visual Editor would be a good place for me to start. He explained where the source is kept, how bugs are filed, The test environments used and many other basic stuff. He also shared his screen to show how to edit an article on beta. Thanks to Chris McMahon, all these details can now be found on the QA page ( https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Quality_assurance).
Another thing that I was struggling with was the IRC. I was using #mediawiki channel and wondering why I was the only person there. Zeljko corrected me and said the channel was #wikimedia :). Pairing with Zeljko has given me direction and now I at least know where to look on wiki :). Thanks Zeljko.
