I thought this morning's pairing session was very valuable, and although I'm familiar with some of the specific tools involved, this pairing session gave me a great introduction to how the WMF is using those tools, and provided direction on a workflow to use in trying to determine the source of some of those red dots in Jenkins. </span><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">So now I'll see if I can figure out how to make some of those red dots turn green!</span><div>

<br></div><div class="gmail_extra">I have shared my screen and showed him our two Jenkins instances[1][2]. We picked a failed Jenkins job[3] and tried to reproduce it both locally and at Sauce Labs[4]. While debugging the problem I was talking about all the tools I was using. He was familiar with a lot of them but I think it was useful for him to see how we use them. I also gave him a short introduction into how test code is structured.</div>
<div class="gmail_extra"><br></div><div class="gmail_extra">The test was failing in several ways on my machine and on Sauce Labs, so in one hour that we had, we were not able to consistently reproduce the error. If we had more time we would find a way to reproduce the problem and fix it.</div>
