My name is Rachel Thomas, and as Chris mentioned in an earlier post, I have been a volunteer for the QA group for some time working on gerrit and Ruby/Cucumber/PageObject. I'm excited that I have been chosen as one of the Gnome FOSS Outreach Program for Women interns (<a href="https://live.gnome.org/OutreachProgramForWomen" target="_blank">https://live.gnome.org/OutreachProgramForWomen</a>). I will be doing my internship on browser test automation with the Wikimedia QA Group from June 17, running till Sept. 23rd. I will be working on automating the new Visual<br>
Editor feature for QA (see here for my VE automation proposal: <a href="https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Outreach_Program_for_Women#Candidates" target="_blank">https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Outreach_Program_for_Women#Candidates</a> ) and possibly automating other features as well.<br>
I live outside of Boston, MA in the EDT time zone, with my husband and our 10yr.old daughter and 14 yr. old son. I am rachel99 at freenode, mostly in #wikimedia-dev. I am<br>

One big project we have coming up is testing the Visual Editor[1]. This is<br>
the main subject of Rachel's Outreach Program for Women project[2].<br>
<br>
VisualEditor still has a number of interesting bugs not yet fixed[3].<br>
<br>
So apropos of VisualEditor, I would like to discuss two main themes:<br>
<br>
1) Discovering issues with VE right away by manual/exploratory testing.<br>
2) Supporting Rachel and her OPW project for browser test automation for<br>
VE.<br>
<br>
Rachel, I'm sure you've seen it, but I made a spike, a simple test that<br>
exercises VE and checks for the correct result at<br>
<a href="https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/66050/" target="_blank">https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/66050/</a> I'd like to discuss creating the<br>
next appropriate tests here on the QA list if that's OK with everyone.<br>

exploratory way spend some time with VisualEditor. The more information we<br>
have about how VE behaves in various browsers, the better off we are.<br>
