So you don't have to remember whether the article starts with a
capital letter of a lowercase letter when linking to it. In cases
where it makes a big difference (eg. your genetics example), it would
be good to have it otherwise, but in most cases it just means lots of
redirects from the lowercase form to the uppercase (or visa versa).
