Hi all.
I am delighted to announce that Wikimedia Spain has started a cooperation
with the Fundación Joaquín Díaz, which holds a Museum and an Archive
dedicated to old pictures, old musical instruments and cultural research.
The Foundation takes the name of Joaquín Díaz González,[1] probably the
most important folklorist and ethnographer on the Spanish region of Castile
and León and one of the most importants in Spain.
The first step of our cooperation has been the batch upload of 2764 old
pictures of Castile and León (in low resolution for the moment) to Commons,
which can be visited at this category.[2]
We will keep working with the Foundation in order to make more batch
uploads coming soon.
