Not to mention screenshots, which might provide invaluable photographs
of people whom cannot be easily approached, or scenes from places
where we cannot go.

Making material available under a free license, does not mean that it
automatically qualifies as useful.
I haven't looked at them in detail, but it seems to me that if the
videos as such are 'big and boring' (which I guess they are), they
might still be useful by cutting out single scenes, and put _those_ as
videos on Commons.
