My understanding is that we can get these tools by adding Google Analytics
to the site (in order to "claim" the site), and can do that by adding a
<meta> item to our root URL. Does anyone know who to follow up with to make
that happen? I'd be more than happy to take a lead with follow up with
Google afterwards, if that role would need filling.
Google Analytics is not allowed on Wikimedia sites, as it does not fit
within the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy.
If I remember correctly, the Wikimedia Foundation maintains a Google
Webmaster Tools account in case issues come up where an account is
needed. If Wikivoyage is not already on that account, I'm sure they
could add it and help fix whatever issue there is. I am not sure who
maintains that, if it's still around, so I've CC'd Erik Möller so he
can chime in.
Since Wikivoyage is hosted on the same servers as all of the other
Wikimedia websites, you can always direct issues like these to
Wikimedia's Bugzilla installation <https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/> or
the wikitech-l mailing list
<https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikitech-l>. The people
who run the servers read messages sent to those too places, so they're
a very good place to ask for help when problems crop up! They're
usually some of the ones who are actually able to help. :-)
