Not everybody who is using mediawiki is tech-savvy
like they know how to
execute shell commands, how to secure their VM/Container against various
attacks, etc etc <any unexpected/technical problems here>.
PS. I'm not using shared hosting now. My Linode
VPS is running Ubuntu 14.04
LTS as of today, and I'm not going back to the shared hosting.

So if your Linode VPS doesn't allow you to run VMs or con-
tainers, you might be forced to rent real iron if MediaWiki
would require virtualization in some form or another.
