to Thomas Corell :
Sorry, but can you stop writing french in Wikitech-l?
Try an appropriate
wikifr-l. I don't have any time to learn french only for this
international
mailinglist. Thanks.
Sorry but I just answered Tarquin who has the kindness to answer my english
question in my native language.
to Tomasz Wegrzanowski :
No, it's ok to write in any language.
Especially apropriate are multilingual posts.
Thanks, I will try to post in english (or both).
to Jason Richey :
Just a thought... Wouldn't it be less load on the
server if someone
were to download the fr database dump, run a query on their local
machine to figure out what entries need updated, then run several
specific queries on the live database to update the appropriate
entries?
This way, we could avoid the full text matching on "%whatever%" to
discover which entries need updating.
If we download the "current" french database each time we want to run a
query (to get the last updated entry) it is heavy, isn't it ?
Please forgive me if my SQL knowledge is lacking, or
if a solution has
already been found during discussion in French... I'd love to read
(in English) what was said in the French discussion of this thread, if
anyone cares to translate...
We only discuss the better time to run a query according to the americans
sleeping time ;o)
By the way I didn't get the answer yet, what is the best time to run queries
(not especially this one) ?
It perhaps not the right time to speak about query since you have so much
performence problems !
To be continued... (later)
