Hello everyone,
The MediaWiki homepage redesign project evolved and Design Document [1] is
being built.
This time we really need community involvement to help us decide which
improvements will be included and implemented in the new layout.
Thank you.
Best regards,

Hi,
during the 30C3 Congress [1] in Hamburg - where neither Wikipedia
Foundation nor MediaWiki were formally present this year (but should be
next year)-
Jacob Appelbaum [2] - core member of the TOR project - complained in one
of his numerous talks that the (edit) access to Wikipedia via TOR is not
possible.
He requested that a way should be found to enable the TOR access
including edit access to Wikipedia.
I am just the messenger of this message.
Regards,
Tom

i need some help re: a difference between commons beta cluster and production.
gwtoolset can download images from http://www.europeana1914-1918.eu
without issue on beta, but not on production. the domain has been
whitelisted on both servers in the wgCopyUploadsDomains array.
i have created a patch, https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/107038/,
for the extension that will hopefully give us more insight on the
issue, but in the mean time:
any ideas on how i can track down the issue?
is there a log on production that might help?
thanks,
dan

Nicolas Charbonnier's "Latest ARM Server solutions booths tour" may be
of some interest for those of you interested in low power server
hardware:

Mitac isn't represented there, but he did an interview of them a year

We needed to write an npm module for mediawiki oauth, and we're about to
publish it to the npm registry. I just wanted to check whether we had a
wikimedia account on https://npmjs.org/. If not, do we want one?
