My apache runs on my Linux server and the conf file seems OK because I can
access a php file that I put in the wiki directory.
Only the wiki's file are not accessible from the public Internet ...
any idea...
Thanks
Hi,
When I create a new article or start a new talk, On the edit page it
shows the following text and then shows the text area to add our
text. I want to modify this default content. How do I do and which
file should I modify.
Creating a new article "Asdlasd" it shows this text on the edit page.

How does the configuration of the wiki's directory in Apache's http.conf
file look like?
For example, the snipped below from
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Newcomers_guide_to_installing_on_Windows
blocks access to everyone not in the local intranet:
<Directory "C:/_Data/Apache web pages/mywiki">
Options FollowSymLinks Indexes
AllowOverride None
Order deny,allow
allow from 127.0.0.1
allow from 192.168
deny from all
</Directory>

I can use & edit my wiki from my private network (192.168.0.x) but I

However my apache server is accessible from outside. Even a php script

Hi,
I'm trying to build a Touchgraph representation of the links in
mediawiki. I really liked this mind-map model of nodes in tikiwiki, and
thought it could interest some people here... people who could also help
because there are some big problems.
Here is my demo:
http://www.fxparlant.net/Special:Touchgraph
and here is the thread where I describe it:
http://article.gmane.org/gmane.org.wikimedia.mediawiki/4486
thanks for any contribution

Subject: [Wikipedia-l] Ossetic again (bugs, bugs, bugs...)
To: wikipedia-l(a)wikimedia.org
Hello,
I have tried several ways to draw attention to the problems of the new
Wikipedia in Ossetic, but no changes about it occured. I feel ashamed
to shout too much about those problems, for I know Wikimedia has lots
of other things to do.
Still today I've noticec someone has added a news about the
os.wikipedia reaching 200 articles to
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_News
And there are at least TWO problems about that:
- the original link (just [[:os:]]) didn't work, as none of
interwikies to [[os:]] do.
- I don't know where the person took the data, for the variable
NUMBEROFARTICLES doesn't work at os.wikipedia.org (as it can be seen
at the bottom of the front page: it shows "-1" exactly).
They say, our problems are on the bugzilla, and I have sent letters
about them to this list and personally. What else could be done to fix
those problems? It's mid-April already, a month and a half long
problems apt to linger, I am afraid... :(

Hoi,
I am registered to the list, I could send mail using my thunderbird
application. Now I cannot. I can send mail through the webmail
facility of gmail.
I have asked on several IRC channels what is happening. I am getting
annoyed by this as there is no answer as to what is happening and,
there is therefore no solution imminent.
I use several mail accounts and the only thing I can think off is that
my IP-number was blocked as I have used the wrong account to send
stuff to the mailinglist. If this is so, there must be a way to
unblock such an IP-number.
NB
I wanted to warn for the use of arrays with categories. Some
categories have multiple thousands of entries. Over time many of these
will have multiple tens of thousands of entries so using arrays will
be costly.
Thanks,
GerardM

Moin,
would it possible to allow the <style> tag on meta.wikimedia.org?
That would make the examples at:
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Graph_extension
work correctly.
Best wishes,
Tels

Hi
I read some complaints and questions on interwiki-links. Will there be the
ability for admins to edit the list of interwiki-prefixes in MediaWiki 1.5 so
developers do not have to deal with them anymore? Like Blogrolls of Weblogs we
could also have WikiRolls. Special:Wikiroll could print a list of other wikis
and their namespace-prefixes.
Just a thought,
Jakob
