Hoi,
Sorry to bother you with this; many wikimedians use skype for Voice over
IP (internet telephony) it is great software. It is really cool to be
able to speak to someone in Australia and it costing nothing. Anyway,
there is a new version for both the Macintosh and the Windows platform.
The quality of service has improved.
If you already use skype, look under help and check if there is a newer
version.
If you do not have skype, give it a spin. It is cool.
Thanks,
GerardM

Can I ask that developers use LiveJournal -
http://www.livejournal.com/community/wikitech/ - to keep people informed about
problems on the Wikimedia servers and what's being tried to fix it. People are
much happier about something being broken when they know why and what's being
done about. We also need one central low-noise source for information, and I
feel the LJ is probably the best bet for that.

In the Hebrew Wikipedia the "Category" namespace isn't translated (it
should be translated to קטגוריה ).
When it will be translated, what will happen to the category pages- will
those pages be moved automatically to the new namespace? Will the links
to category pages be modified automatically?
And another thing... printing in RTL languages is aligned to left
because of this code in commonPrint.css:
#content {
background: none;
border: none ! important;
font-size: 11pt;
padding: 0 ! important;
margin: 0 ! important;
text-align: left;
}
In the Hebrew Wikipedia we added this code to Mediawiki:monobook.css
which align it to right:
@media print {
#content{
text-align:right;
}
}
Can someone add this code to RTL.css?
Thanks
Hi
It seems there is a big problem with the
wikimediafoundation login system
Could it be related to the last update of the software
?

To everybody who thinks it's a great idea to take machines out of the
dsh group "apaches":
PLEASE DON'T DO IT.
When the machines get put back into apache service by some other
person, they have OUTDATED INVALID CODE including OUTDATED INVALID
CONFIGURATION which leads to ARTICLES SAVED TO THE WRONG DATABASE
SERVER. Of course this wouldn't be so bad if we had THE BROKEN OLD
MASTER SET TO READ-ONLY.
Thanks.

Dear Kate and friends,
I really loved such much your Namechecker tool - you already mentioned
in a personal note to me, that this smart tool has gone, but I would be
very pleased to have that up and running again on the internet. at least
for some power users like me.
Please - please - please could you relaunch your Namechecker tool ? It
is needed to support all who are working towards the often requested
"single user login", see i.a. http://meta.wikimedia.org/SUL for
Single-User Login.
Kindest regards
Tom
