Hello,

Thanks for taking this up.

May I propose India as a location for this conference? India has Wikisource in so many languages and so many others waiting to be. Many volunteers from India would be happy to support and make this event a success.

Hi NANöR and everyone,

Thank you so much for starting this thread and restarting the conversation about a second Wikisource Conference, the first one being in 2015.

I would also like to offer my support to the Organizing Team for this conference. I have past experience of supporting conferences like WikiConference India 2016, in my volunteer capacity, and I was a part of the Organizing Team which intended to organize the second Wikisource Conference in 2020, as a WMF staff member.

Thinking about the dates and venue, I believe we shall look at the upcoming the Conference Grants rounds. The first round has a submission deadline of September 4, 2023 and event dates between January to June 2024 while the second round has a deadline of February 4, 2024 and event dates between July to December 2024. It might be better to think about venues after thinking about possible dates based on the collective capacities of the people involved.

I am happy to provide support in any way that the Organizing Team deems appropriate. Looking forward to engaging in further conversations about the same.

Regards
Satdeep

Dear Wikisourcians,

I hope this email finds you well. I'm reaching out to you as members of the Wikisource Community user group to discuss an exciting opportunity. As you may remember, the group was preparing for a conference dedicated to Wikisource in 2020. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference was postponed indefinitely.

However, we think it's time to revive this idea and bring the Wikisource Project conference to life. We are keen to bring together like-minded individuals who are passionate about Wikisource resources and interested in shaping the future of the project. We envision this conference as a comprehensive platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration and innovation.

To make this ambitious undertaking a reality, we need a dedicated core organizing team that will lead the planning and execution of the conference. I am reaching out to you today to invite you to volunteer for this important mission. We value your unique insights, experiences and expertise, and believe that your participation will contribute greatly to the success of this event.

If you are interested in joining the core team, please let me know by replying to this email.

Thank you for your time and dedication.

Best,
NANöR
