Catalan Wikipedia has a link to contest too. The reason of Italian success is that only count validated pages. In Catalan contest the most contributions proofreads pages (75%),  because it's three points and validates 1 point. Although the activity is awesome too.

Next week,  we should analyze this contest for future editions.

Dear Wikisourcerors,
English, Catalan and Italian Wikisource are running a proofreading contest.
Looking at the stats (http://toolserver.org/~phe/statistics.php?diff=1)
we see that the Italian Wikisource is way more succesfull: this is probably due to the fact that we have a link to the contest on the Italian Wikipedia.
I would suggest you to ask the community to run it for you for the last days,
it could be a boost for the contest.
And, hopefully, some users will stay :-)

Aubrey

PS: I also think that the "lottery" prize, which we copied from the Catalan contest, is a great idea. In the Italian contest, the second and third prize will be extracted from the validated pages: this means that everyone has a chance to win, and the more I read the more chance I have.
