2011/9/9 Hesham Swehli <cyberspider_xp(a)yahoo.com>om>:
hi I would like to create a new language in
wikipedia. The language is "Libyan" spoken mainly in Libyan, mistakenly called
"dialect" for political and historical reasons. It has its own dialects
including: tripolitan, banghazi, msellata, mosrata (misurata),..etc. It is a semetic
language and belongs to the Magharebi languages family, which belong to the Arabic
languages family. There is already Masri (Egyptian) language in Wikipedia and I hope you
can add Libyan as well, so that we can start translating pages in our own language. Thank
you
Salaam,
The ISO code of this language is ayl:
http://www.ethnologue.com/show_language.asp?code=ayl
There already is an "incubator" Wikipedia for this language at this address:
http://incubator.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wp/ayl/Main_Page
There's almost no content there currently, but you can create it yourself.
If you want to write articles in this language, go to
http://incubator.wikimedia.org/ and create an account by clicking "Log
in / create account" at the top of the page.
Not follow the steps in the manual for working on a test Wikipedia here:
http://incubator.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Manual
Steps 1 (Requirements) and 2 (Starting a test) of the Manual are
already completed. So start at step 3 (Submitting the request).
Contact me if you need any help.
Good luck!
