ഈ വിധത്തില്‍ രബീന്ദ്രനാഥ് ടാഗോറിന്റെ കൃതികള്‍ കുറച്ചു വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്കു മുന്‍പ് പബ്ളിക്ക് ഡൊമൈനില്‍ ആയെങ്കിലും ശാന്തിനികേതന്‍ ട്രസ്റ്റ് എന്തൊക്കൊക്കെയോ കളികള്‍ നടത്തി അതിന്റെ കോപ്പിറൈറ്റ് 20 വര്‍ഷത്തേക്ക് കൂടി എക്സ്റ്റെന്റ് ചെയ്ത കഥ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. അതിനു വേണ്ടി പാര്‍ലമെന്റ് എന്തോ നിയമവും പാസാക്കി. ആ വിധത്തിലുള്ള കളികള്‍ ഒന്നും ഇക്കാര്യത്തില്‍ ഉണ്ടാവാതിരുന്നാല്‍ മതിയായിയിരുന്നു.

ബൌദ്ധികസ്വത്തവകാശം(so called IPR) അല്ല പകര്‍പ്പവകാശത്തിന്റെ(copyright) കാലാവധി ആണു് തീര്‍ന്നതു്.
"The copyright of Navjivan Trust on Mahatma Gandhi's writings expired on Thursday enabling other publishers, besides the Trust, to reproduce the same."
IPR does not have any legal validity other than just a term used by some people(http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/not-ipr.html).
