Oh okay, happy to hear that. I agree, the font will look good and puts some emphasis on "South Africa". No need to try out the block font then! I also looked around online and we are allowed to use our own versions of the logo. I was initially afraid that we might only be allowed to use the original. Can you please send me the SVG version? I will then implement it on our website. Thanks for the trouble.
Kind regards
Lourie
PS: I have attached a smaller version so that the rest of the people on the list can see how it looks. :)

I did receive the sample from Maarten and we will be able to use it being in that format. We are currently finishing the other lose ends, but the list is one of our biggest concerns. Do you think it will be possible for us to get access to the list in about two weeks time? Unfortunately we can only run this competition in September, as all the other countries are doing so. Thanks for your effort!
Kind regards
Lourie

Hello Isla
I agree with you regarding that we need more structure in our approach. That is why I asked in the previous email whether you and Douglas will handle the media relations. We should definitely add more structure, because that way we will not duplicate work and I will stress less! :) Maybe we should just stick as it was set out originally on the website: http://wikilovesmonuments.co.za/wiki/Local_organizing_committee. Find my comments below. I agree with most of your remarks.
1) Indeed.
2) HWC did not specifically say for what prize that money is, but I assume it is only for the WC. I see that it is possible to get an iPad for R5,300, so I suggest that we tell them to buy the iPad and we can maybe make up the R300. What do you think?
3) So far we have not decided on someone to handle the launch. Will you be willing to lead this for us? We should definitely invite all of the relevant parties and mention them.
4) Good comment, I agree. I am currently talking with Michael from HWC regarding this, feel free to join the discussion. I posted a message about this yesterday to the list: http://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikimediaza/2012-July/000544.html.
5) I have already asked about the T-shirts, but HWC is not willing to sponsor this. They say they have had bad experiences with such ventures. Regarding the museum staff, I agree that there should be training. It is my goal to have the documentation completed by Monday when Michael will distribute it to the museum staff. They can then contact us with any questions, which we can then also use to improve the documentation. As far as I know most of these museums are open over the weekends, so I will be willing to help with training at the bigger ones such as mentioned. I believe that this will be the best use of time.
6) See previous comment.
7) Yes, this is indeed important. I leave it to you to decide on this, because I do not have any experience in the field. Maybe we can then send out the press release by Wednesday? I think this would be good, because then it is the beginning of August. Only one month left! :()
8) Happy to hear that you have done so. Blessing offered to handle this, so you can talk further with her regarding the mechanics.
9) Douglas took this discussion over from me, but I am sure that he will appreciate your help. I spoke with David Hart, but I will forward you the discussion. So also this link: http://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikimediaza/2012-July/000545.html.
Kind regards
Lourie

Find attached previews of the mapping and heritage data the City of Cape Town can offer us. I am currently tied down with a crazy semester table, so if someone in the Cape Town area can meet up with these guys it would be excellent.

Hello Barbara
Thank you so much for this! I have checked those pages and made sure that our information is up to date. Can you please continue this discussion with Isla? Currently we do not have a proper postal address yet, so Africa Centre might help us out.
@Isla: I hope you don't mind me forwarding this to you... :)

Hello everyone
We are almost done with our report regarding the Washington DC trip. After adapting our WLM grant according to the advice we received there we submitted it:
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:WM_ZA/Wiki_Loves_Monuments
This will give us enough time, as the WMF needs 30 days to review the grant. Currently there is about 40 days left until the competition. The only thing we still need to do is to mention the support we got from the NHC, SAHRA and HWC on the proposal. This will be done as soon as possible.
Kind regards
Lourie
Hi guys
Herewith please find some price indicators for printed Tees that we are
using as budget prices for Wiki Loves Monuments competition.
Please forward any counter prices through as soon as possible.
1) Shirt guys: http://www.tshirtguys.co.za/TSHIRT2/Specials.html
They have a special of golf shirts embroided with logo. 50 Tees go for R70.
We could push for back print as well for R5 extra per tee?
2) To the Tee: http://www.tothetee.co.za/business-branding-special.htm
They have a special price of 20 crew neck T-Shirts with back and front
printing for R1800. This works out to R90 per T-shirt. We could probably
convince them to go as low as R75 per tee?
3) OLX:
http://johannesburg.olx.co.za/af/custom-printed-t-shirts-iid-16310091
They have an average cost of R100 per printed T-shirt.
As a result we will use R100 as budget price for the T-shirts into the
grant request.
Regards
Dumi
Thanks for already sending out the preliminary email. Just let me know what additional information you need for the posters. We will have the documentation ready by Monday. I have linked the HWC logo as requested. What is the next steps now? Drop me a line if there is anything else.
Kind regards
Lourie

>Hello Michael

>I am currently in the process of writing a report to my fellow Wiki Loves Monuments organisers to inform them about my meeting with HWC last week. I will get back to you back around Wednesday. I just wanted to let you know that I am just busy, I did not forget. For now you can take a look at our website, but note that it is still under construction: http://wikilovesmonuments.co.za/. Also, to what should the HWC logo link?
