That's great that the Swahili version is available offline! A great step forward for the project.

One thing I'd note (and this was a big discussion a few months back on the India list): when we have a full encyclopedia dump - without any sort of quality assurance or monitoring - we ought to be careful regarding the use and distribution.  Of course, there are always typos and factual errors at any given point on Wikipedia, but when we pull that content off the Internet and make it static, I believe we have a certain responsibility in providing the best information possible.  For example, imagine a school with an offline version of Wikipedia that is full of stubs and errors: it may ruin those teachers' impressions of the source, and could potentially misinform a whole classroom of students.

Just wanted to throw these thoughts out there as you continue to brainstorm ways to use the Swahili version of Wikipedia :) Maybe you should consider making a Wikipedia for Schools version of Swahili! ....

Hey friends,
Have you seen this:

Looks like the Swahili wikipedia is out for use with Kiwix. Any ideas how
this might be used? Distributed? Advertised? It sure is relevant for
Wikimedia Kenya as Swahili is our national language!
Excitedly yours,
Oliver (aka BT)
