Wiki Loves Women India 2019 has ended officially! And the results are out!. The contest was organized organically without any offline edit-a-thon! 12 language communities from India, Bangladesh and Nepal participated with over 81 participants and 816 articles from 10th February - 31st March to bridge gender gap on Wikipedia.


Hindi Wikipedia - 172

Bengali Wikipedia - 152 articles

Assamese Wikipedia - 111 articles

Malayalam Wikipedia - 95 articles

Santali Wikipedia - 81 articles

Maithili Wikipedia - 60 articles

Oriya Wikipedia - 49 articles

Kannada Wikipedia - 47 articles

Punjabi Wikipedia - 35 articles

English Wikipedia - 12 articles

Telugu - 2 articles


Thanks to all our organizers and very passionate participants. This was a project for Women by Women & Men. Walking hand-in-hand with members of all genders, we can truly bridge the gender gap in Wikipedia! Thank you Sumita Roy Dutta for being the national mentor and co-organizer for this contest.
