Jodi -

This must be very interesting! I'm hugely disappointed I can't make it (work ... sigh!).

I hope this email catches you before today's session ends because it might be an idea to announce the proposed start-up of Wikimedia Ireland at the venue.

Even if you could ask one of the organisers if you could stand up and make an announcement before one of the speakers it would be a great opportunity to promote our effort here and to get more skilled people involved.

A Google search for "Wikimedia Ireland" brings the meta page up as the first hit, so maybe say that. From there, people can access the mailing list link and see where we are in our development.

It would be cool too if you could fire out some thoughts to the list, if you have any, following the conference on things arising from it that might be of interest to us.

Thanks,
Oliver

Subject: [Wikimedia IE] NUI Galway hosts international conference on social software, 26-27 August

I'll be at BlogTalk 2010 in Galway Thurs-Fri 26-27 August. Anybody
else going? I'm most excited about the 091 labs talk -- about a local
hackerspace here in Galway. It's an illustrious bunch of speakers,
from Google, Facebook, boards.ie, ...

Early registration is open for one more week, if you want to join in.

PS-Who's set a date/time/place for our own meetup?
