Wikimedia NYC is committed to keeping its volunteers and its communities as safe as possible, and has made the difficult decision not to lead or support in-person events through March due to concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic.

NYC now has several cases from community spread, and we believe cancelling events that bring people together - especially high contact events such as edit-a-thons - is the most responsible thing to do. Wikimedia NYC is working with its partners to identify new dates and remote options when possible, but there will also be cancellations.
