The interface text for the upcoming Wikimedia
Board of Trustees election
needs to be translated into as many languages as
possible. Instructions can
be found at:
I'm really confused. You gave a list of 22 edit
links with one page of text
below that. Which one of those 22 edit links does
the translated text go?? Does
the same text get posted in each of the 22 MediaWiki
pages?
-- mav
the text given is the entirety of the content
go to meta page
copy the content of the first line
example :"Wikimedia Board of Trustees election",
Click on the first red link
example : MediaWiki:boardvote
you get the edit page
http://meta.wikipedia.org/w/wiki.phtml?title=MediaWiki:Boardvote&action…
change it to another language
example :
http://fr.wikipedia.org/w/wiki.phtml?title=MediaWiki:Boardvote&action=e…
edit the content (translate) then save
you get this
http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki%3ABoardvote
repeat for each message
ideally, those messages for admin are not necessary
since danny and imran are english speakers
but these messages are also very very short :-)
