I am glad to hear that Luis Villa's department has been thinking about
Innovation. Rather than debate it here, perhaps the team would like
to expose some of their work on Meta. However I might just note that
it would probably have helped the community to help them if the team
had exposed their work earlier.
Dear Wikimedia friends,
Wikimedia Deutschland and the Wikimedia Foundation are delighted to
announce the date for the next Wikimedia Conference in Berlin:
April 20-24, 2016
Wikimedia Affiliates, members of the Wikimedia Foundation board and staff
as well as the FDC and AffCom, please save the date! As in previous years,
Wikimedia Deutschland will host the conference with the generous support of
the Wikimedia Foundation.
Today, we would like to share a few changes in the logistics and program
design process with you that should help us all in making this conference
even more productive and sustainable.
July 16, 2015: WMCON Follow-Up Day at Wikimania
Before Oct 2015: Follow-up WMCON15 and identify main themes for WMCON16
Oct 2015: Publish program themes for WMCON16
Nov 2015: Affiliates select their representatives according to the program
lines
Dec 2015–15 Jan 2016: Registration (hard deadline, no exceptions!)
15 Jan–29 Feb 2016: Arrange travel, hotel and visa
15 Jan–20 Apr 2016: Continue program design process together with the
registered participants. Enable participants and speakers to prepare
properly.
20-24 Apr 2016: Have a blast at WMCON16
After April: Follow-up.
After Wikimania, we will start setting up the program design process.
Please note that only thanks to the early registration, we are able to
properly incorporate all participants’ needs and input for the first time.
The registration closes on January 15, 2016. This is a hard deadline and we
will not be able to allow any exceptions. Please support us in making this
possible by choosing your representatives early!
Looking forward to seeing many of you next week in Mexico. Feel free to
reach out to me should you have questions or feedback.

P. S.: We have just published the extensive grant report and evaluation
survey for this year's Wikimedia Conference. It is really worth having a
look, as it is not only visually appealing but also offers a lot of
substantial content that can be used by our movement partners and provides
learning opportunities for other event organisers and program leaders
alike.

Hi all,
I've just posted a brief update on meta from the fundraising team as we
enter a new fiscal year and I'm copying it below on this list as well.
Please do check out the meta update
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Fundraising#Latest_Updates> about wrapping
up the 2014-15 fiscal year and some upcoming plans for this new fiscal
year. I'm looking forward to reading your ideas on the meta talk page
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Talk:Fundraising>.
We’ve just ended the 2014-2015 fiscal year. The fundraising team is
preparing our annual fundraising report for the entire fiscal year (as we
have posted in past years
<https://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Fundraising_reports>). We plan to
have the report posted by the end of this quarter. In the meantime, here
you have a few quick updates on the past quarter and some upcoming
information on the new fiscal year.
Since the December 2014 English fundraising campaign, the team has been
busy running campaigns in many countries and languages. In the past six
months, we ran desktop, mobile, and email campaigns in Israel, Hungary,
Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Spain, Latvia, Romania, and Slovakia.
As we enter a new fiscal year, we are preparing another round of country
campaigns – kicking off with Japan in July. We have plenty of new ideas
to try and throughout the year we will be running tests around the world to
find new material to effectively and respectfully get our message across to
readers, while also motivating them to become donors. The team is working
on preparing brand new banner ideas to test (just to name a few ideas:
short messages, long messages, infographics, images, new designs, new
messaging, etc.) If you have any ideas, please do share them on the
fundraising
talk page <https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Talk:Fundraising>. We look
forward to finding new breakthroughs this year and sharing the highlights
with you.
A very big thank you to the more than four million readers who donated to
make the 2014-15 fiscal year the Wikimedia Foundation’s most successful
fundraising year in history. Thank you to the fundraising team, volunteers,
and staff for an incredible year. Looking forward to a new year and new
discoveries.

Hi,
Today i was searching in Youtube and found that there are two channels of
Wikimedia Foundation (the links are following). The channel which has a
verified link (the first link) has only a few videos and the other channel
has user friendly URL and more videos.
Can anyone tell why there are two channels and which one should i follow?
