Hi all,
please find the Wikimedia Foundation's report for the third quarter of
the fiscal year at
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wikimedia_Foundation_Quarterly_Repo…
.
Quoting below the foreword by Terry.
---
We are please to bring you the WMF Quarterly Report for Q3 of 2014/15.
This is the second report since switching from a monthly cycle, to
align with our quarterly goal setting process, and contains several
changes that focus more on results and achievements.
One major change is that goals are counted as either a success (green)
or a miss (red). This report is now a comprehensive overview of all
the Q3 objectives rather than a subset of the quarters goals, as we
delivered in the Q2 report. In a mature 90 day goal setting process
the “sweet spot” is for about 75% of goals to be a success.
Organizations that are meeting 100% of their goals are not typically
setting aggressive goals.
We have also been able to reduce the amount of time and effort that
goes into producing the report by flowing information straight through
from the Quarterly Review Meetings.
In the report you will also find a couple of new pieces of data. The
overview slide shows the status of all 130 goals from Q3 on a single
page, broken down by organization. Additionally we have been able to
include site speed metrics as part of our overall report card.

Greetings,
On behalf of the 2015 Wikimedia Foundation Elections Committee, I am
sharing the certified results of the 2015 Funds Dissemination Committee
(FDC) election for FDC members and FDC Ombudsperson. These results have
been certified by the committee, Wikimedia Foundation's legal department,
and the Board of Trustees.
There were 1173 votes cast, with 1101 valid votes being given, the
difference being votes which were recast. In reviewing of the votes, the
committee did not strike any votes.

Does anyone here know if any research has been done relating Wikipedia
article daily page views to their Google ranking? I'm particularly
interested in medical articles, but any topic or an average sample would
interesting too.

Dear fellow Wikimedians,
Wikimédia France has just issued its first iteration of Practical Guide
for Local Groups:
you can find it on Meta both in French [1] and in English [2].
I hope the English version will allow us (Wikimedia stakeholders) to
discuss and share about our different ways of supporting
members/contributors.
Consistent with Wikimédia France's strategy of regional development, the
objective of such a guide is to improve and support the development of
local groups, to inspire and make it easier for them to organize
actions, get involved and maximize their empowerment. It’s a resource
document, organized in 19 theme-based factsheets which can be updated
independently when needed.
As usual, if you have any questions/remarks, ideas of improvement or
your own example of such a document, please get in touch with us. For
those who will be at Wikimedia Conference in Berlin, you can discuss it
over there.
PS: On a more personal note, thank you to the team who led this
impressive document production!

Subject: [Wikitech-l] Mailing list maintenance window - 2015-05-19 17:00 -
19:00 UTC
To: wikitech-l <wikitech-l(a)lists.wikimedia.org>
Please note that we will be working on a few open tasks for mailing list
server maintenance, next Tuesday, May 19th from 17:00 to 19:00 UTC.
During this time, all mailing list traffic, as well as online archives, may
become unavailable. Once the window has ended, all mail routing should
resume normally, and any messages sent during the window will then be
delivered accordingly.
All associated tasks and changes are linked from
https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T99098.
This mail has (initially) been send to all list administrators, and
wikitech-l. Please feel free to forward to any other lists or parties that
would need to know about this maintenance window.
