Dear all,

On October 16th, free knowledge enthusiasts all over the world are celebrating Ada Lovelace day, in memory of Augusta Ada Byron, the world's first computer programmer. Wikimedians all over the world are celebrating the day by conducting edit-a-thons, workshops and conferences mostly aiming to increase female participation in all wikiprojects. Women Wikimedians in UK are organizing an edit-a-thon at the Library of Royal Society in London as a part of Wikiproject: Women's History. Ms. Daria Cybulska, the coordinator of the event, has welcomed international participation from women Wikimedians around the world. I have pitched in to run a parallel online edit-a-thon in India.

It gives me pleasure to invite you to participate in this one day long online edit-a-thon on 19th October for creating and expanding articles about women scientists. I have created a list of the pages here. Please feel free to expand the list by adding more names to the list. The edit-a-thon is open to anybody interested in women's history. Women editors and newcomers are particularly encouraged to attend. Interested participants may kindly add your names here. More details can be found on the event page here.

Thank you!

Regards

Netha Hussain
