Dear all,<br><br>      On October 16th, free knowledge enthusiasts all over the world are celebrating Ada Lovelace day, in memory of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ada_lovelace">Augusta Ada Byron</a>, the world&#39;s first computer programmer. Wikimedians all over the world are celebrating the day by conducting edit-a-thons, workshops and conferences mostly aiming to increase female participation in all wikiprojects. Women Wikimedians in UK are organizing an <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Women%27s_History/Royal_Society">edit-a-thon</a> at the<a href="http://royalsociety.org/library/"> Library of Royal Society</a> in London as a part of<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Women%27s_History"> Wikiproject: Women&#39;s History</a>. Ms. Daria Cybulska, the coordinator of the event, has welcomed international participation from women Wikimedians around the world. I have pitched in to run a parallel online edit-a-thon in India.<br>
<br>It gives me pleasure to invite you to participate in this one day long online edit-a-thon on <b>19th October</b> for creating and expanding articles about women scientists. I have created a list of the pages <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Women%27s_History/Royal_Society/International_participation#Articles_needing_creation">here</a>. Please feel free to expand the list by adding more names to the list. The edit-a-thon is open to anybody interested in women&#39;s history. Women editors and newcomers are particularly encouraged to attend.
