Dear Wikimaniacs,<br><br>Hello again from the 2013 local team for a break from the Wikimania 2014 bid discussions!<br><br>Every candidate applying for Wikimania 2013 scholarships should have received an email in the past two weeks saying either their application was unsuccessful, or their application is still being considered. Commiserations to all unsuccessful candidates - we hope we can still see you at Wikimania and around the Wikimedia projects.<br>
<br>This year we received over 1200 applications for scholarships; about 700 made it past the first round. It is expected that a total of about 125 WMF scholarships and 75 chapter scholarships will be allocated to the best applicants among applicants who advanced past the first round. Candidates should hear about the decisions regarding their applications by the end of April.<br>
