Hello everyone,

As some of you might already know, WLM team facilitated a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion review of the campaign last year. The goal of the review was to bring out recommendations that will help the overall campaign to be more inclusive and encourage diverse participation.

We recently published a mid-term report of the findings. The researcher working on the project, Mesha, was only able to interview some of the many organizers and other stakeholders we have. It would be great to have everyone's opinion captured in the final report.

A summary of the report is available at https://www.wikilovesmonuments.org/wiki-loves-monuments-in-focus-challenges-of-hosting-diverse-equitable-and-inclusive-photo-competitions/
and the full report at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments/DEI_research_2022_-_interim_report

If you are an organizer, participant, and in general interested in WLM (or the larger cultural heritage space), kindly go through the report and share your thoughts on improving the campaign. This will be crucial for the international team as we intend to make changes/improvements based on this research. Based on any feedback received, the final report is expected to be published around early July.

For sharing feedback, you can directly reach out to Mesha (mesha.m@wikilovesmonuments.mobi) or write on the talk page of the report on Wikimedia Commons.

Regards,
Krishna Chaitanya
