As long as the userboxes are in userspace, I've got no problems. The
instructions seem simple enough as they are anyway.

I don't see the point. WP:USERBOXES already carries detailed information on
how to make one.
Anyone who needs more help can ask for it at the help desk or requested
templates.
We don't need an extra page for something as easy as this.
