Missing one important proviso: public relations workers are quite
welcome to edit wikipedia in a personal capacity. What has been
prohibited is editing Wikipedia on behalf of a paying client.
I just don't understand why that should be.
Jimbo said "no" and we're not a democracy.
We could delve into the pros and cons ad infinitum; I personally think that
it might have been better to allow it, under carefully controlled
conditions, but there certainly were legitimate reasons for serious concern
about allowing it at all and Jimbo probably saved us another six months of
agonized polarizing screaming at each other.
