Well, it finally happened. For the first time, someone
has managed to
delete an article I labored more than 4 hours over, in such a way that I
cannot retrieve it even with sysop powers.
My original [[Missing explosives in Iraq]] article is gone, with a
highly biased version in its place.
Well, I have no sysop powers to see deleted versions, but a quick bit
of sleuthing turns up:
"23:40, 28 Oct 2004 Jxg (Missing explosives in Iraq moved to Al-Qaqaa
weapons facility)" [1]
which leads us to [2], which from dates and usernames suggests that
your original text (just after the move) is here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/wiki.phtml?title=Al-Qaqaa_weapons_facility&ol…
I'm sorry if I'm stating the obvious here, and that isn't actually the
text you're looking for.
To complete the story, it was then expanded slightly [3], before being
merged, albeit not very thoroughly [4] with another, already larger
[5], article on the same topic [6].
No deletion I can see, just a maze of page moves and parallel development.
