Did that. Is this not a working list?

No. All wiki-content discussions should take place in-wiki :)
We should strive for transparency, not more splintering than what is already.

One relatively brief day of adminning enwiki and I find myself blocking the sockpuppets of no fewer than three separate returning banned users. Hkelkar, Ararat arev, and BryanFromPalatine, if anyone's interested. Is this a normal experience for my fellow admins?
And do we do enough to keep banned users off Wikipedia? Should we chase them up in real life a little more? After all, I believe we do know who at least two out of the above three are. Wikipedia is hardly sinking under a deluge of banned users, but a little more proactiveness would be nice on this front. Is protecting articles from a specific user or IP range technically possible?

In this case, there was a wolf; or shark, if you believe the Wikipedia Review identification of a suspect.

There is already precedent for *noting* the number of edits certain voters
have in order to point out socks or SPAs. That would seem a sufficient
alternative approach, rather than excluding those voters.

I just spent the better part of ten minutes searching for an admin on
IRC to have something deleted while I was handling an OTRS ticket. Is
there a channel that the en wiki admins hang out where folks from
foundation, volunteers working OTRS, et cetera can go to contact an
admin in real time if something needs deleted? If not, I might suggest
a new channel. Thoughts?

Folks,
The New York Review of Books has written a review of Wikipedia:The Missing
Manual which is well worth a read.
http://www.nybooks.com/articles/21131
"Wikipedia is just an incredible thing. It's fact-encirclingly huge, and
it's idiosyncratic, careful, messy, funny, shocking, and full of simmering
controversies—and it's free, and it's fast. In a few seconds you can look
up, for instance, "Diogenes of Sinope," or "turnip," or "Crazy Eddie," or
"Bagoas," or "quadratic formula," or "Bristol Beaufighter," or "squeegee,"
or "Sanford B. Dole," and you'll have knowledge you didn't have before. It's
like some vast aerial city with people walking briskly to and fro on
catwalks, carrying picnic baskets full of nutritious snacks."
More in article.
