I completely agree, and don't know why there is such a move towards localizing oversight (and I imagine checkuser will come next).  It should be noted that stewards can still oversight as part of cross-wiki work that they are doing, per the voted-upon policy.

Imho oversight requests are better managed by Stewards rather than local users.
