This actually requires javascript to work - javascript that is
currently not loaded on the mobile site.
The text "Click on arrows to sort by work, place or date." should not
be part of the content but should actually be part of the javascript
that provides this enhancement. For users with javascript disabled, or
a web browser that cannot process javascript this text will be
confusing.
I'd encourage the removal of this text! Ideally the javascript module
that provides this functionality should be able to provide this text
rather than the content of the article.
I've replied to the Village Pump thread with these thoughts.
Tables in general are a hard problem on mobile - many of the tables
displayed on Wikipedia are very large and not ideal for reading on a
small screen. I welcome any ideas on how we make it easier to read
tables on mobile... it's a hard problem!

The #works section of the en.Wikipedia article on

"Click on arrows to sort by work, place or date". This isn't
applicable on our mobile version or mobile app (nor, probably, on
sites that reuse our content).
I've raised a discussion
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Village_pump_(technical)#Self_reference_and_mobile>
about how we might deal with this. Your suggestions would be welcome.
