Hi,
In the old days (i.e. before ResourceLoader), one could load a user script
from their own local machine using something like
importScript('file:///home/user/script.js')
Today I tried to do something similar except that my script relies on RL
modules (such as OOjs UI, MediaWiki API, etc). I couldn't get it to work.
Some users on #mediawiki channel doubted it is at all possible to load a
local script that uses RL modules. One user suggested GreaseMonkey but even
that did not help. Note that I was using debug mode the entire time.
I was wondering if anyone has been successful doing what I desire, or knows
how it can be done. For the record, the script I was trying to run through
GM is at [1].
Thanks,
Huji

A security bug [1] has been fixed in CentralAuth; the bug caused logouts to
silently fail if the local account on the central login wiki was
unattached. That does not happen under normal circumstances, so the
vulnerability can only be exposed if some other error causes attaching
accounts to fail; nevertheless you are advised to update your
installations. The fix has been backported to all supported versions (those
for MediaWiki 1.23, 1.26 and 1.27).

and users of MediaWiki and the Wikimedia APIs. We specifically want to
increase the participation of volunteer developers and other contributors
dealing with extensions, apps, tools, bots, gadgets, and templates.
Important deadlines:
- Monday, October 24: This is the last day to request travel
sponsorship. Applying takes less than five minutes.
- Monday, October 31: This is the last day to propose an activity. Bring

Hello MediaWiki Community,
I am part of an undergraduate research group focusing on software
architecture patterns and quality attributes at Utah Valley University. We
recently analyzed the work published on MediaWiki in the Architecture of
Open Source Applications <http://aosabook.org/en/index.html> (AOSA) and
referenced it in a paper we presented at the 13th Working IEEE/IFIP
Conference on Software Architecture (WICSA), as attached. As a part of our
continuing research we wish to validate our architectural analysis for
MediaWiki
with the current developers.
We would like to know if we are missing any patterns or quality attributes
that may have been included in MediaWiki, or if there are any we listed
that aren’t used. Any additional comment on these topics you might have
would also, of course, be welcome.
We believe we found the following software architectural patterns in this
application:
* Pattern Name | Is This Found in the Architecture? (yes / no / don't know)
| Comments (optional)*
Broker Client Server Event System Layers Pipes & Filters Plugin Shared
Repository
Other?
We also identified the following quality attributes:
* Attribute Name | Is This Found in the Architecture? | Comments (optional)*
Scalability Usability Extensibility Performance Flexibility Security
Capacity Cost
Other?
For your convenience, we have a complete list below of the patterns and
quality attributes we referred to when conducting our research. To clarify,
we are specifically studying architectural patterns, rather than design
patterns such as the GoF patterns.

Hi list!
I'm new to MediaWiki and I have a problem that I can't resolve... :(
So, I installed MediaWiki 1.26.4 and the WYSIWYG-CKeditor-wysiwyg_mw127_459.
It works correct and I can create and edit the pages.
My problem is when I need to link an uploaded file in the page...
In this case I always see the link "file:blahblah.txt"...
If I change the name, I can't access the file anymore.
Can someone say me, how to solve my problem?
Thanks a lot
Luca Bertoncello
