Hello,
on Thursday, 27th of March, we will release the next regular scheduled maintenance release of MediaWiki 1.22. branch. There are still 12 open issues for MW1.22 to be found on bugzilla [1]. So if someone feels like enriching the upcoming tarball, please have your work merged by Thursday 8am UTC (1am PST).
Best,
Markus

What I'm seeing is consistent with bug 58213[1], which could arise
because of an upgrade of either PHP (5.5.10 includes PCRE 8.34) or the
system copy of the PCRE library. (I don't know whether cPanel's build of
PHP uses the system PCRE.)
Try applying the patch for the bug (linked in comment 20) to your old
MediaWiki installation (the API[2] tells me it is 1.13.1, which would be
affected), and see if it fixes the problem.
If it doesn't, it would help for us to see relevant PHP errors from the
web server's error log, if they appear (refer to How to debug[3] on
MediaWiki.org).

Hi,
I managed to install Mediawiki and Parsoid and node.js on my Debian
Wheezy Server.
The strange thing is, that VisualEditor is starting one I click an edit
link, and I can edit and save the page, but I can't create any links.
When I click the link button noting happens.
Any idea what might be wrong?
See you
Flo
I have a bunch of wikis on different sites. Most of them have been created in
1) duplicating a master configuration I created on my machine. I
think from HISTORY it is version 1.4.4.
2) creating an MySQL database in using my cPanel
3) running the install script
4) extending the Local Settings.php files with access protections and
extensions indicated lines.
I know nothing to MySQL. All this worked just fine until three days
ago. We changed nothing in MySQL and PHP release (I am an on
dedicated machine at my hosting provider).
Then the frames of the pages displays OK on different browsers. But
the text is absent. I can login to the site, I can access the text,
update it, get the diffs, etc. However, when I ask a preview or I
want to see the page, the text is absent.
Example: <http://iucg.org/wiki>http://iucg.org/wiki
I have other sites that have been installed with Softaculous that
work just fine.
I have not tried to reinstall a newer version as I am in the process
of reviewing my all wiki set-up and look for a PHP partner to
organize a distro (I have many wikis and plan more I wish people to
be able to freely implement) and as I said I am at loss IRT MySQL
backup and duplication at this time.
Thank you for the help!

Hi, been setting up a mediawiki to port my aging twiki for 3d animation
tips, all going great so far:
http://www.tokeru.com/mayawiki/index.php?title=Main_Page
One thing I'd like to do though is hide the '[edit]' links, and only have
them appear when users hover over the title. Similar to the direct link
icon that appears for the python documentation pages (open the following
link, hover on the titles, a red '|P' link appears to allow users a direct
link to that section) :
http://docs.python.org/2/library/os.html
>From inspecting the mediawiki pages it appears I should be able to use the
mw-headline:hover to affect mw-editsection. Unfortunately I can't make it
work. I can make mw-headline:hover affect itself, and mw-editsection:hover
affect itself, but not one affecting the other. Here's what I'm trying:
.mw-editsection {
display:none;
}
.mw-headline:hover .mw-editsection{
display:inline-block;
}
I've tried variations with #, span, spaces, no spaces, but clearly this is
beyond my limited css skills.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
-matt
