Note it should be LocalSettings.php (capital L). If it can't

So, are you trying to use a sqlite database or a mysql one?
Seems you have a problem with php.ini configuration there.

Hello everyone,
I was careless enough to run a MediaWiki installation allowing people to
sign up without a moderator's approval. Hence a few hundred of them did
sign up and started to use the site to swap images.
How can I delete their accounts in the most expeditious way?
Thanks.
Boris.
I'm trying to find some further documentation or guidance (if any) on
site duplication and then master-slave replication.
The scenario is this:
We have 2 Wiki's, each in their own network. The first wiki is available
to our users now. The second one is a clone of the first which was made
a couple of months ago and hasn't been touched since. What I'd like to
do is have the clone be the slave and the first one be the master. I'm
thinking that the database would not contain the extensions, skins,
possibly photos, templates ? So I would have to push those over. The
clone or slave would only be for reading and not writing.
Can anyone give any guidance ?
thanks,
Chris
I've got a master slave wiki setup. I'm also using RSS extension to
collect multiple feeds from different sources (the feeds are also being
replicated on other machines in both environments so the feeds are the
same). The problem is that the primary site is using a different
private ip addressing scheme than the secondary site so I have to do a
minor edit change in a template on the slave to point to a slightly
different ip address which means the database is now no longer the same
as the master which creates database errors - in this case duplicate
primary key errors.
Is there a way to do this - possibly doing a raw SQL update on the CLI
in the right table on the slave so we don't insert another additional
record in the table ?
thanks,
Chris
Hello everyone,
I have a page that has several instances of a same template.
I wanna know if there is some table in the wiki database, which relates
each instances of the template which its field values.
Thanks in advance,
Marcelo.

I wanted to let folks know that this list has been created and is ready for membership: https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikitech-announce - wikitech-announce(a)lists.wikimedia.org There will also be a signup list for this and other lists at Wikimania Hackathon.

This includes an announcement when monthly tech or engineering reports are posted, important news updates on git or developer related tools, and information on upcoming sprints, events or other major developer collaborations.

For reference, MediaWiki-announce has sent out 3 messages this month and mediawiki-l had 121 messages. This list presents a middle ground between the two extremes.

Many individuals, myself included, have been intentionally trying to engage developers generally less present, but just as important to our community. Such as corporate developers with an interest in sharing extensions who can benefit from announcements about git. Similarly, some students would prefer to get basic info that helps them stay on top of the latest developments.

Hi
I'm trying to write a template for source code for our wiki
(octave.org/wiki/) and am facing some problems. The idea is to have a
template that would work like:
{{Code|multiline
code goes
here
}}
and highlight it using the SyntaxHighlight GeSHi extension. I have
managed to do this with #tag so it looks like
{{#tag:syntaxhighlight|{{{1}}}|lang="octave"}}
However, code typically involves characters such as pipes and closing
curly brackets which mess up the template. I have tried to use <pre>
and <nowiki> around the actual code when using the template as in
{{Code|<nowki>some text</nowiki>}}
but that replaces the text by a weird string such as
" UNIQ17a021e41516d0ad-nowiki-00000001-QINU ". Same happens when using
<pre> (by the way, is this a bug on the {{#tag magic word?)
I expected that this would be a common thing and that I'd find many
templates already doing this but actually found none. The
recommendation on wikipedia is to use <syntaxhighlight> directly
(which I'd like to avoid since we want to change the default look of
it and are already using a template to place the code inside a table
with a title and legend). The alternatives that I see are:
* use wikipedia's {{!}} template (it does solve my problem)
* modify the actual extension code so it does all I want and use
that instead of a template
However, none of them sound right. Does anyone knows how to solve this?
Thanks in advance,

Hi all,
I'm trying to upgrade from MW 13.2 to MW 19.1, and I'm not having any
luck.
I duplicated the db & code so as to 'sandbox' it to ensure I could get a
good upgrade before I turned it loose on a live install.
Here's the steps I took, followed by errors received.
* Put Wiki into readonly mode with message stating 'updating to
mediawiki 1.19.1'
* Created duplicate database of current install
('mediawiki_1_19')
* Copied all /htdocs/mw/ files to /htdocs/mw119/
* Downloaded & unzipped into own folder the
mediawiki.1.19.1.tar.gz
* Copied files from /mediawiki.1.19.1/ to /htdocs/mw119/
* Edited /htdocs/mw119/localSettings.php to point to /mw119
folder and new db ('mediawiki_1_19')
* Commented out all extensions within localsettings.php
* Renamed StartProfiler.php (also tried deleting it)
Errors when running [URL]/mw119/mw-config/:
* Blank page with error message "Warning: Cannot load module
'pdo_sqlite' because required module 'pdo' is not loaded in Unknown on
line 0"
* Page title is 'MediaWiki 1.19.1 installation'
Errors when running /htdocs/mw119/maintenance/update.php:
MediaWiki 1.19.1 Updater
PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysql_error() in
/[PATH]/mw119/includes/db/DatabaseMysql.php on line 305
Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysql_error() in
/[PATH]/mw119/includes/db/DatabaseMysql.php on line 305
[PROMPT]:~/htdocs/mw119/maintenance$
If I go straight to the index page of the sandboxed wiki ([URL]/mw119/),
I get:
A database error has occurred. Did you forget to run
maintenance/update.php after upgrading? See:
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Upgrading#Run_the_update_script
Query: SELECT lc_value FROM `mwlp_l10n_cache` WHERE lc_lang = 'en' AND
lc_key = 'deps' LIMIT 1
Function: LCStore_DB::get
Error: 1146 Table 'mediaWiki_1_19.mwlp_l10n_cache' doesn't exist
(mysql6c.serveronline.net)
It doesn't seem to be able to create the l10n_cache table. (mwlp_ is the
table prefix contained within localsettings)
I've sanitized out any filepaths/url that weren't applicable using [].
If anyone can point me into a new direction, I'd be grateful!
