Hello,
as a researcher, i am wondering if it is possible to add a little note into
my wiki like "this page was created on 10.01.2011"
This would be some very interesting feature. I know I see it also in the
history but as i use my wiki as a personal website, i did turn the history
off.
Any help is highly appreciated
:)
Hi,
I try to use updateBannedIPs.sh on http://c2ilibre.free.fr, as described at
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Combating_spam.
I added the line "require_once("$IP/extensions/bannedips.php");" to
"LocalSettings.php", and I put "bannedips.php" and "updateBannedIPs.sh" into
the folder "extensions". "updateBannedIPs.sh" has the rights 644, and I cannot
change at.
"updateBannedIPs.sh" works on my computer, but how to run it on the web? When
I indicate the adress "http://c2ilibre.free.fr/extensions/updateBannedIPs.sh"
in firefox, it will download the file. I use Debian/Linux.
For the moment, my wiki says:
"0.0.0.0,0.0.3.0,0.2.0.0,1.0.0.0,1.1.1.1,1.1.2.3,1.186.6.110,......

Hi,
I installed ConfirmEdit as described at
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:ConfirmEdit.
I copied ConfirmEdit to /extensions and I added
require_once( "$IP/extensions/ConfirmEdit/ConfirmEdit.php" )
at the end of LocalSettings.php.
At http://c2ilibre.free.fr, I used ConfirmEdit 1.1.15 and at
http://linuxlea.free.fr/linux/wiki, I used ConfirmEdit 1.1.16 corresponding to
the running Mediawiki version on each site.
But when I try to test it by editing a page, there is no captcha on both
sites.
What's wrong ?
greetings
Klaus
Hi,
I installed the news extension
(http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:News) on MW version 1.14
and get the error message
"Fatal error : Call to a member function getPrefixedDBkey() on a
non-object" after trying to save an article with the <newsfeed> tag
included.
Any suggestions how I can fix this?

Hey there, all.
I'm starting to investigate migrating a mediawiki instance from Fedora 7 and version 1.5.4/PHP 5.2.2/MySQL 5.0.37 to something a little more current. Naturally I'm almost a complete novice with wiki software so I'd like some ideas for where to begin my study. I'll be working through the current documentation and other thoughts are welcome.
Regards.

Hello everyone!
Does anybody knows if the extension(s) with the following functions exists?
1) Move many pages prom one Category to another. Nowadays I use regex
extensions for that - those are not so handy :(
2) Block several thousands of smap users and pages they've created?
Extension:Nuke is fine if only one user created many smap pages, but usually
spammers create many accounts.
Thank a lot!

Hi,
each time I send a mail to the list, I get normal message and another one like
this:

What does that mean and how can I get rid of it ?

Hello!
I just installed mediawiki on a new site. I've used it on other servers before and never encountered this problem.
For some reason, i get "Error 330 (net::ERR_CONTENT_DECODING_FAILED): Unknown error.", when i try to enter a new url (/index.php?title=asd). This seem to be similar to the problem described here:
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help_talk:Starting_a_new_page#Page_Not_Found_…
I cannot for the life of me figured out what the problem is. I reinstalled from scratch, without any customizations, so this has to be a server config problem. It's not my server, but my guess it that it probably something I can fix by changing some php option in my .htaccess.
Anyone have a good idea?
My site is at: http://www.incrediblemusicmachine.se/
Thank you,

Hi,
I just created a new wiki at http://linuxlea.free.fr/linux/wiki. Is seems to
work, but I can't create an account. Error message is
"Login error
There seems to be a problem with your login session; this action has been
canceled as a precaution against session hijacking. Go back to the previous
page, reload that page and then try again."
Of course I tried to do that, but it does not work.
It also tells me : "You must have cookies enabled to log in to Linuxlea."
But in Firefox 3.6.3 under Debian Squeeze, there is no option for cookies in
privacy tab. So I tried with Konqueror, cookies enabled, but I obtain the same
error message.
cheers

Hi Everyone,
I'm using a Mediawiki/IIS/AD implementation and would like to accomplish
the following via Microsoft Active Directory:
* Single Sign On
* Synchronisation between MediaWiki groups and AD Groups (For
example, I want myself, and people in my department from security
group to have full, administrative access)
* At a later date (but not urgent right now) disable anonymous
access, and have private and public wiki sections.
I know what a lot of people are going to say.... "google it". I have,
but there are many different configuration settings and examples for
different versions of the plugin and different versions of mediawiki,
I've yet to have any success with them, hence why I'm now asking here.
Below is what I've got so far, but it's not a lot. I've disabled
anonymous access via IIS and enabled windows authentication, but I'm not
getting any single sign on functionality. However, if anyone has
accomplished at least the first two objectives listed above and would be
able to provide me with a "template" of their config (sensitive data
obviously omitted) then I would really appreciate it.
Many thanks,
David
