Hello all,
I have a few wikis I that I configured together in a wiki family (farm).
I also created the Interwiki links and the links work correctly when I
create articles with links to other members in the family. I added the
wiki namespaces to the LocalSettings.php as in:
$wgExtraNamespaces[100] = "semmw";
$wgExtraNamespaces[101] = "semarch";
$wgExtraNamespaces[102] = "semlang";
And they actually show up in the advance search name spaces page. But
when I select additional members' namespaces to have them included in a
search - it does not work. I only get results for the local wiki and not
for the others.
What else do I need to do to get the Interwiki searching to work?
Thanks
Corneel Booysen.

Aw man, I struggled with that for DAYS a few months ago!
I was using the <tasks>...</tasks> extension, and using it in an
indented list of any sort would break indenting, which rendered it
useless for us. I finally this "UNIQ-QINU" crap, which was inserting a
newline BEFORE indented lists were being parsed, which of course re-
set the indentation level.
I commented it out of includes/parser/Parser.php, and that doesn't
seem to have broken anything else, and now <tasks> work properly in
indented lists.

Before posting to this list, please read the MediaWiki FAQ[10]. Many common

When replying to an existing thread, use the "Reply" or "Followup" feature of

style[11], for clarity.
When creating a new thread, do not reply to an existing message and change the
subject. This will confuse peoples' mail readers, and will result in fewer
people reading your mail. Instead, compose a new message for your post.
Messages posted to the list have the "Reply-To" header set to the mailing list,
which means that by default, replies will go to the entire list. If you are
posting a reply which is only interesting to the original poster, and not the
list in general, you should change the reply to only go to that person. This
avoids cluttering the list with irrelevant traffic.

Is there a standard way of customizing the appearance of one of my
custom namespaces (and its associated talk namespace)? I would like
to change the logo, and ideally override the user's preferred skin (or
at least have some additional CSS added) when in this custom namespace.
I've had a couple images uploaded to my wiki that are so big, it seems they make my thumbnail program crash. If you just display them on a wiki page as is, it's fine, but if you try to |thumb them, the page won't load and give a blank white screen. Similarly, if you try to go to the image's page to upload a new version, you get the white page again (because of the automatic thumbnail created for each version of the image)
1) Is there any way to delete these files without going to their own page?
2) Is there a way to set a file upload size limit to avoid this in the future?
Thanks,
Ron

Hello all -
We use MediaWiki for user documentation. As the sole author, I can build and
manage new versions of the wiki in order to support software version
releases.
The issue is that we now have partner companies who want to create their own
support pages, and use a custom skin (with their own logo/skin).
Is there a practical way to allow me to continue to make regular updates to
the base wiki, without overwriting the partner content? Can we provide each
partner with a space they control, individually?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Best,
Evelyn

We have build many extensions to improve the functionality of MediaWiki.
It is for
Enterprise use as Knowledge management infrastructure. The name of the
extensions and additional
functionality is Wikibox Blue. The software is propriety.
It can be hosted as SAAS
Today there has been a request if automatic signing of thread is
possible in the discussion page.
This is standard functionality in WikiForum. Which can be used in the
talk namespace.
But it is propriety software. So it can not be used.
My question is here : Please convince me I have to make my propriety
software open source.
With some conditions :
*I decide if I make Wikibox Blue Open source
*I decide when Wikibox Blue will be Open source
*I decide on which conditions Wikibox Blue will be open source.
If you respect these conditions please try to convince me I should do
it. Keep in mind it is a
mayor step for me and my company.

Hi,
I can imagine this had been asked many times in this list. But I don't
seem to be able to find the same question in the archives.
I installed v1.15.1 into my OpenSuSE 11.1 under /srv/www/wiki directory.
It works fine if I point the Document root of httpd(apache2)
to /srv/www/wiki. But it doesn't work if I point it to somewhere else,
like /srv/www, and create an index.html there then set a link <a
href="./wiki">. It gives me "Object not found" because it tries
opening /localhost/index.php5/Main_Page, instead
of /localhost/wiki/index.php5/Main_Page.
I assume I just need to adjust some PHP variables in LocalSettings.php
but I don't know which ones and how. Can anybody point me to the right
direction?
Thanks,
Toshi
Hi.
The following string (UNIQ3e6d296734fe3fa4-h-0--QINU) is appended right in
front of an 'h1'-tag on my wikis homepage (see:
http://www.wikisilkeborg.dk/index.php5/Forside) and again below, where I'm
using the extension "NewPages" to display a list of the 10 most recent
articles. Does anybody know what the problem might be? Any thoughts are more
than welcome as this problem relates to the mainpage.
