Media Temple - Dedicated Virtual
I'm trying to use a Wikipedia Template called "Infobox Single" - used
for 45 rpm singles info boxes such as this one:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strawberry_Fields_Forever
I've almost got it working, but the one piece that's killing me is
that when it renders, it's not creating the thumbnail in the box, but
rendering the full image. (Normal thumbnails work fine.)
I did recreate a number of dependent templates and my one worry is
that I've omitted one. Some templates on Wikipedia are protected and I
haven't been able to locate the source code for them. But I've set up
most of them.
I'm *barely* able to work with wiki coding, but here's the snippet
where the image in the box is created:
|-
| colspan="3" style="text-align:center;" | {{#if:{{{Cover|}}}|
{{#ifeq:{{{Cover}}}|none| |[[Image:{{{Cover}}}|{{min|200|{{{Cover
size|}}}}}px|{{#ifeq:{{{Border|}}}|yes|border{{!}}}}“{{{Name}}}”
cover]]}}| }}
{{#if:{{{Caption|}}} | <div style="font-size: 0.8em; line-height:
1.4em;">{{{Caption}}}</div>
}}
|-
The cover shows up, but not in thumbnail. If I do a browser "view
source" I see, for the image tag:
<a href="/wiki/index.php/Image:Pennystrawps.jpg" class="image"
title="“Strawberry Fields Forever” cover"><img alt="“Strawberry Fields
Forever” cover" src="/wiki/images/6/69/Pennystrawps.jpg" width="360"
height="361" border="0" /></a>
Driving me crazy because I'm *so* close!
Thanks. Tim

well, two strategies:
1. split the article in several small articles as you need, then
replace the original article with several page transclusion.
With this approach, if you edit small articles the changes
reflects in the big one too...
2. keep the original big article and use an extension as DPL to
include part of it in the small articles. With this approach,
if you edit the original article, the changes reflect in all
the small articles.

Hi,
I want to include several different parts of one article in other
articles. Basically, I want to split up a big article in several
smaller ones with some stuff around, but keep the big one as the master
article where all the editing happens.
Is that possible? How?
Thanks!

Hi,
I'm trying to (temporarily) include one wiki page in a frame on a normal
website.
For this I need to get rid of the sidebar, tabs and everything around
the page. I want just the pure content.
Also all links from this page should point to the same layout. Broken
links and clicking on images shouldn't link anywhere at all.
Basically I want to hide everything that is wiki, showing just the
content, when I am using those pages in the frame... (similar to
action=render, but with all the links as mentioned above etc.)
I already managed to do what I want with the printable version, but it
is a really dirty hack (changing css, core code and completely
disabling caching...). That was for a really quick solution...
Anybody got ideas or pointers for a better solution?
Thanks,
matsch

Hi,
Can anyone help me out with the math extension. I have set it up as per the
instructions I could find on wikipedia and mediawiki.
The extension is working on my local machine but not on our remote machine.
I see the following difference between the logs of the two machines.
TeX: ./math/texvc '/home/nazeer/workspace/mediawiki-1.11.0/images/tmp'
'/home/nazeer/workspace/mediawiki-1.11.0/images/tmp' '\sin \theta = \cos
\left(\frac{\pi}{2} - \theta \right) = \frac{1}{\csc \theta}\,' 'utf-8'
TeX output:
+ebccd65df3286dc6ef8347e81e62d8cc
---
TeX: getHashPath, hash is: ebccd65df3286dc6ef8347e81e62d8cc, path is:
/home/nazeer/workspace/mediawiki-1.11.0/images/math/e/b/c
The 'getHashPath' line is missing from the log of the remote machine. Does
anyone know what could possibly be wrong?
Thanks,
Nazeer
