Hello!
I wanted to ask if there is any way to achieve that the inventory is
minimized, when you open up an article the first time?
This would be handy as our articles have many sections, so that the
inventory is always quite big and unhandy.
Thanks to all contributors!

Hi guys,
I just installed MediaWiki. I uploaded a .svg file which is scaled in my
page. When i include the image I get the following error message.
Error creating thumbnail: <br />
<b>Warning</b>: passthru() has been disabled for security reasons in
<b>/home/bizproc/domains/bizproc.nl/public_html/mediawiki/includes/GlobalFun
ctions.php</b>
on line <b>2030</b><br />
I tried to change a couple of settings but nothing worked. Could you help me
out?
Thanks,
Paul
I am getting the following deadlock issue and it comes back minutes and sometimes hours later...
<snip>
A database query syntax error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in the software. The last attempted database query was:
from within function "SiteStatsUpdate::doUpdate". MySQL returned error "1213: Deadlock found when trying to get lock; try restarting transaction
</snip>
So it seems that multiple processes are trying to edit the same table at the same time which is causing this issue...
How can this be prevented?
Thanks for the help.

I used
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:LDAP_Authentication/AD_Configuratio…
to set up a simple bind. But I cannot authenticate... the AD server
never sees any attempt to authenticate (or at least doesn't log anything
in the Event Viewer). With $wgLDAPDebug = 3; I get:

Setting domain as: domain

I've recently started using the "It's All Text!" Extension in FireFox
- it opens your favorite editor and lets you save edits into the
MediaWiki page you're editing.
We tried the Wikipedia plug in for Eclipse, but it didn't perform as
expected - there was a lot of cutting and pasting.
btw - this is a great forum, and a very helpful group. Thanks.

Does anyone know whether all the hooks (especially OutputPageBeforeHTML) are called when flat wikis are made with dumpHTML?
We have clients that want html reports on CD from our wikis and we've added some extra display stuff with OutputPageBeforeHTML that isn't showing up in the flattened copy.
Thanks!

Hi all -
We're expanding our online help wiki, and we'd like to use the
existing site to support two brands (for example, Brand A and Brand
B).
The wiki content is generic enough for both brands, so long as we can
add a different skin to each. The brands would share the mediawiki
content, and each brand would have has it's own skin and URL.
The DynamicSkin extension seemed promising, but without more examples,
I'm struggling to make it work. I need some guidance... is this the
right tool for this situation? Can you tell me if this is practical,
or should we just build two MediaWIki instances and push changes to
both? (or is this worse?)
I'm old at techwriting, but new to webstuff, and we don't have an IT
staff at our startup. I'm figuring it out by myself, and hope you
folks can point me in the right direction.
Anyone have experience with this situation, or can offer other solutions?
Evelyn

Hi,
I configured Mediawiki 1.13.2 in german, but finally I use it in french.
Images work with
$wgNamespaceAliases["Bild"] = NS_IMAGE;
in LocalSettings.php. "Bild" is german for image of course.
Now I need an alias for "Hauptseite" instead of "Accueil" (mainpage). I can't
find the syntax.
cheers
Klaus
