Hello!
I wanted to try AJAX, so i switched it on in my MW 1.9.0:
$wgUseAjax = true;
$wgAjaxSearch = true;
$wgAjaxWatch = true;
Now, when I try to type the name of an article in the searchbox of my wiki, i
get an error-message-popup:
Error: 500 Internal Server Error
Parser::replaceInternalLinks: $this->mTitle is null
Whats wrong?
Regards,
Jan
Hi,
I tried to upload my site to free.fr, but I got the message
PHP 5.0.x is buggy on your 64-bit system; you must upgrade to PHP 5.1.x or
higher. ABORTING. (http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=34879 for details)
Where can I find a provider using "PHP 5.1.x or higher" ? I live in France
near Paris.
cheers
Klaus
Dear list,
a quick search through the list archives didn't bring up a result so
please excuse me if this issue has been solved already.
I am currently using Mediawiki 1.9.2. and experienced problems uploading
PNG images.
Although my test image shows an 'image/png'-mimetype with 'file -i',
Mediawiki keeps saying the file was corrupted.
Monitoring /tmp/php* while uploading the image again shows the uploaded
file to be image/png, too:
while(usleep 1); do file -i /tmp/php*|grep -v "ERROR"; done
/tmp/phpksjpPO: image/png
Mediawiki debug says
MimeMagic::detectMimeType: magic mime type of /tmp/phpcDoKKE:
text/plain
amongst other things, so I guess MimeMagic isn't working correctly..
Searching the meta wiki gives me the hint to add
$wgMimeDetectorCommand = "/usr/bin/file -bi";
to LocalSettings.php as a workaround, which actually does the trick.
But still I wonder: What's the problem with MimeMagic?
Thanks,
Sebastian
Ran into a weird dump problem yesterday, which has me wondering if
there's a problem with my artificially created xml for upload.
Here's what happens. I have a script that builds wiki pages from an
external source and embeds them in xml for upload via importDump.
The script can be toggled to either generate a single page or a bunch
of them. The same script failed to load some pages that load just
fine if you specify them individually, but ImportDump.php does NOT
crash during the import.
I suspect that there is something wrong with the upstream items, but
I can't find it. The Brown Univ XML validator complains about the
following:
line 3, ecoliwiki20070730123135.xml:
error (1102): tag uses GI for an undeclared element: mediawiki
line 166616, ecoliwiki20070730123135.xml:
error (1012): reference to undeclared entity:
line 166616, ecoliwiki20070730123135.xml:
error (1003): entity (or its expansion) is invalid:
line 166616, ecoliwiki20070730123135.xml:
error (1012): reference to undeclared entity:
line 166616, ecoliwiki20070730123135.xml:

line 184234, ecoliwiki20070730123135.xml:
error (402): EOF encountered; no doctype declaration found: mediawiki
but I'm pretty sure these are all red herrings. So...is there a
validator out there I should be using? Is there another reason why a
record might be skipped? I know that if the timestamps are earlier
than the last version there's a problem, but these were all loading
into empty Category pages.

Hi. http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Preventing_access mentions a
method of rudimentary access control involving two mediawiki wikis, one
public, one private, with a shared user database. That sounds like
what I want to migrate a pair of existing e-mail discussion groups onto
wikis. The groups share a lot of content and members, but one group is
public and the other is (nominally) private.
The difficulty is, "shared user database" is a redlink. Could anyone
here help me fill in the details?
Could this be the correct link:

All,
We are trying to use the RSS feed from Special:Recentchanges, but when
we try to pull the feed in we get the following:
XML Parsing Error: xml declaration not at start of external entity
Location:
http://wxp-5ppg211/gecwiki/index.php?title=Special:Recentchanges&feed=rs
s
Line Number 2, Column 1:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
^
It appears Mediawiki is putting in a blank line above the "<?xml
version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>" line, when that line should be first.
Any ideas on how I can get Mediawiki to change that behavior?
Thanks,
Dave Green
I apologise if this message has come through before. But I appear to have
some issues posting to the list.

Hi
I am are trying to link from one wiki on one server to one wiki on
another one. We can pull in text, but somehow images are not being
sent through. Does anyone know why it doesn't work for images?
This is on MW 1.10.0 and Apache.
$wgAllowExternalImages is set to true and scary transcluding is
enabled... I am running out of ideas...
It is not Apache. I have checked and hotlinking is not disabled.
Thanks,
Andi
I'm getting this warning after saving an edit, when the system prompts me
for the captcha. This seems to occur whether I'm using the default
SimpleMath, or ReCAPTCHA. It still works fine, but this warning appears at
the top of the screen every time:
Warning: preg_match() [function.preg-match]: Unknown modifier 'd' in
/home/[snip]/includes/EditPage.php on line 634
Lines 632-639:
# Check for spam
$matches = array();
if ( $wgSpamRegex && preg_match( $wgSpamRegex, $this->textbox1,
$matches ) ) {
$this->spamPage ( $matches[0] );
wfProfileOut( "$fname-checks" );
wfProfileOut( $fname );
return false;
}
Hi,
My test wiki is on a Windows machine. I tried running the maintenance
scripts from command line.
The command I executed was
D:\PROGRA~1\EasyPHP 2.0b1\php5>php -cli "D:\Program Files\EasyPHP
2.0b1\www\sunwiki\maintenance\dumpHTML.php"
The error I got is "DB connection error: MySQL functions missing, have
you compiled PHP with the --with-mysql option?"
How to rectify this? In the Adminsettings.php files, what are the values
to be given?-mysql db username/password or wiki's sysop
username/password?

Jack

I just tried to use the ini_set function,
to change the value of a variable in php.ini
for the execution of mediawiki.
MW ignored the new value however
and kept using the one from php.ini.
Is there something to know about
using ini_set() in LocalSettings.php?
Is its effect delayed but an amount
of time? Does something triggers
its effect at some point but not immediately?
