Hello all!
I want to expand the search to an further table I created. This second
table contains a fulltext index from attachments like pdf, doc and so
on.
Where I've to start to set up a hook that expands the search query?
Anonther idea is to build a hook that runs an extra query on the new
table and just add the results to the resultset of the mediawiki search,
so I don't have to care how to display the results.
Thanks a lot!
Alex
Hi,
i tried to install the following extention:
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:SphinxSearch
In step3
Step 3 - Run Sphinx Indexer
Run the sphinx indexer to prepare for searching:
/path/to/sphinx/installation/indexer --config /path/to/sphinx.conf --all
So what to do here? Especially when running on a windews system???

I want to create a template that will add a specific style for some
external links to a web based flow charting system, eg:-
*Click here for flowcharts about this subject (Subject Name)
this would be called by
{{flow|url of flow chart}}
The flow template would be:-
{|style="border:1px solid orange;background-color:#FFFACD;padding:1px;"
width = 100%
|
*[{{{1}}} Click here for flowcharts about this subject ({{PAGENAME}})]
|}
but the URLs contains query strings eg:-
{{flow|http://webcentral.powys.gov.uk/webcentral/Authorised_Signatory_Sheet.doc?objid=462}}
Which the template system doesn't seem to like the ?objid=462 on the end
of the URL
Thanks
John

Hi,
I'm just subscribed.
I'm using MediaWiki from about 3 years ago in several projects (art,
research, education, technology, activism, ...).[*]
Now I'm feeling the need to have a mailing list in my language to share
doubts & experience with other persons who also use Mediawiki.
I wanted to create a list of this kind in Catalan and another in Spanish
but Platonides (from Wiki-es-l) has suggested me to ask here so that it
can be created in the servers of Wikimedia.

Hi there,
I've got a problem with my wikis "editing help"-page, that can be called from
the edit window.
It says "(wird in einem neuen Fenster geöffnet)" --> opens in a new window next
to the link, but somehow I managed to "kill" that feature. :-(
I moved the page to a new name and then reversed the move via the
log-functionality. And I added some text to the page. Now it'll open in the same
window / the same tab as the edit window, overwriting the edit window and at the
same time loosing all unsaved changes... :-(
It still works as it's supposed to in my test-wiki, and I cannot find out what
the difference of the two is. The link looks the same in the browsers-address-field.
Can somebody help me restore the "opening in new window"-feature?
Greetings
Kate
Hi,
How can I convert my MW pages to PDF if I changed user rigths?
I simply tried to use PDFExport for it. I have an external software that can
give the appropriate URL to PdfExport.
If user rights is default there is no problem.
After I changed the user rights (see below), there is not any content in the
generated PDF file:
User rights:
$wgGroupPermissions['*' ]['read'] = false;
$wgGroupPermissions['user' ]['read'] = true;
$wgWhitelistRead = array("Main Page", 'Special:PdfPrint',
'Special:Userlogin',);
How can I get the content of the page? Can I pass reading right while
generating PDF?
Please write me soon.
Regards,
Gabor

When creating a new thread, do not reply to an existing message and change the

Messages posted to the list have the "Reply-To" header set to the mailing list,
which means that by default, replies will go to the entire list. If you are
posting a reply which is only interesting to the original poster, and not the

There is 1 user, that for whatever reason the first time she logs into

successfully. But, then the wiki comes back and says invalid

Setting domain as: UWW

At this point, it returns invalid password and fails to continue

ldap account's. and we've been using the ldap extension for years.

Hi
Why don't you try
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:SpecialDeleteOldRevisions
I'm using it and works fine. Just give %% for all the articles and give
date as today. It'll delete all revisions upto this date except the
current revision.

Subject: [Mediawiki-l] Cleansing database for launch
I am once again returning to the task or cleaning the database prior to
a launch.
We have several hundred thousand pages and up to 20-30 revisions per
page. I need to strip all revisions prior to the current one to
effectively clear the history for each page.
I know from a previous message from Rob that the DeleteOldRevisions.php
script a bad way to go and may give unexpected results so I am tackling
this directly in SQL.
It would appear that deleting all entries in tblrevision EXCEPT the
latest (i.e. chronologically latest rev_timestamp) and each of the
associated entries in the text table (where
revision.rev_text_id=text.old_id) is the way to go.
Does this look like it will give me what I am looking for, deleting all
revisions/txt except the latest? Is there anything else I need to delete
to clean the database?
Bearing in mind this site is pre-launch and has nothing other than
straight forward textual pages, albeit a lot of them.
Thanks,
Paul
