Hello All.
Is it safe to upgrade to 1.6?
There is one advantage I really need - the "Default Parameter".
And if it is safe - where can I download it from?
I've searched the CVS and found only till 1.5.8...
Thanks ahead!
Peleg.
My google skills are failing me.
I've uploaded several jpegs to my wiki which I now want to re-upload
after doing some color correction on them.
I can't seem to figure out how to get mediawiki (1.4.x) to rebuild the
thumbnails for these images after I've uploaded them.

Great, thanks. That's what we've been doing with 1.4->1.5, on a test
server. We'll go ahead with that, then move to 1.6.

Moving from 1.5 to 1.6 should be pretty smooth; the database changes are
relatively minor.
1.4 to 1.5 is a big change, so test that offline first if you're able.

Announcing the all-singing, all-dancing user rights email notification
extension. It slices, it dices; it emails registered users upon a
change in their group memberships. Yes folks, for users of MediaWiki
1.5.9 and above* this is *the* extension to download. More information
minus the marketing spiel at
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/User_Rights_Email_Notification.
* Requires hooks present in 1.5.9 or later. I know, 1.5.9 isn't out at
the moment. The hook is simple enough to add, it's a one-line change
which I'll document somewhere.

Thanks,
I am running 1.5.6...
My question is if there is any other way to make "IF"s or default parameters
in templates even if I use 1.5.x version of mediawiki...
Thanks again!
Hi, I'm new to MediaWiki so please excuse the simple question: is there a
way to print out wiki pages short of visiting each one and clicking 'Print'
from the browers?
Thanks,
Mark
Hi,
Users of mine are running into a problematic situation where a page is
left in "edit" mode for several hours. At the end of the day they press
"Save" and instead of directly saving, the page shows up a preview.
Users have checked the "Remember me" box so that login shouldn't be an
issue here.
Any ideas?
Apache/debien/mediawiki server, firefox/windowsxp clients.
Thanks
Laurent
