I just wanted to renew the information, that my patch is ready since
some weeks.
http://bugzilla.wikipedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=454 and
http://meta.wikipedia.org/Enotif describe, where it can be downloaded,
how it works.
There are also some screenshots flying around.
Please report problems directly to me by mail;I also assist you should
there be problems.

Hello
I'm running into problems as to how to make mediawiki run properly on
our server.
http://www.hydrix.com/hydrixwiki
or
http://www.hydrix.com/mediawiki/index.php/Main_Page
the main page works fine.
However when using Firefox I click on Edit/login etc.. absolutely
nothing happens
If i use a Windows PC with IE6 then I get an error that the page can't
be loaded.
Here is my apache configuration:
Alias /mediawiki/ "/usr/local/www/data/mediawiki/"
Alias /mediawiki "/usr/local/www/data/mediawiki/"
Alias /hydrixwiki/ "/usr/local/www/data/mediawiki/index.php/"
Alias /hydrixwiki "/usr/local/www/data/mediawiki/index.php/"
<Directory "/usr/local/www/data/mediawiki">
Options MultiViews includes
AllowOverride None
Order deny,allow
Allow from all
</Directory>
<Directory /usr/local/www/data/mediawiki/images>
Options MultiViews includes
AllowOverride None
Order deny,allow
Allow from all
# avoid execution of PHP scripts in upload directory
AddType text/plain .php
AddType text/plain .phps
</Directory>
Any ideas what it could be? i've followed about 8 different wikipedia
on how to configure mediawiki, I always get the same problem

Dear all,
For our corporate Intranet site I'm looking at creating a simple template
with navigation at the top, content in the middle and a small footer at the
bottom (see ibm.com for an example of the sort of layout I'm looking for).
I'm using a freshly installed 4.1rc for this test.
I've started with monobook and copied \skins\monobook.php and
\skins\monobook\* to \skins\test.php and skins\test\* respectively. I've
changed the mentions of "monobook" to "test". The template created works
fine under firefox, but not IE. IE complains about an error in the
generated js code which I've tracked down to a call in RawPage.php "echo
$sk->getUserJs();". I've commented that out and all is now fine - but I'd
prefer not to change the codebase.
Can anyone advise what I need to do to either (1) disable the opportunity to
run user specific css / js in my new "test" template; or (2) fix my newly
created "test" template so the user-specific css/js works properly.
If anyone can point me towards a better starting point than monobook for the
layout I'm trying to achieve that would also be appreciated.
Cheers,
al.
Surely does, thanks Brion :-)

Copy [[MediaWiki:Monobook.js]] to [[MediaWiki:Test.js]] and see if that
helps.

Hi!
How can I implement links to the files system?
If this is not possible, is possible to upload pdf files. If yes what
do have to modify to allow this. My MediaWiki tells me that pdf is not a
supported file type.
Thanks,
Hans
I turned on mysql logging in /etc/my.cnf. It appears that an old version
of the mysql client is being used by php. The password authentication
changed in later releases.
The solution was to add old_password to /etc/my.cnf so the old
authentication mechanism was used whilst the wikiuser was being created
and to change this back after.
Thanks
Hello,
i want to enhance the menu of my wiki. It just should be a php generatet
text, but i have no idea, which file i have to edit. When i put some <?
php echo "test"; ?> in the xhtml_slim.pt, the text will shown in the
html sourcecode without parsing. What can i do?
Thanks,
Campino

Hallo!
I am trying to evaluate a few different wikis and cms for an internal
information hub. Especially important for us would be the possibility to
easily display source code from all kind of programming- and
markup-languages without having to do much editing. Ideal would be some
tag that tells the wiki to display the code as it is, into which we
could simply paste the code from an IDE.
I have played a bit with mediawiki and looked into the help pages but
have so far found no feature that would support this.
Can anybody help me with this?
Thanks,
Hans
I believe that at that point the install tries to authenticate with
mysql using a different user. So the issue is most likely a mysql
authentication issue. I recommend that you enable logging on mysqld
try again and see what mysql's problem is.
