Hey Reem,

The best living documentation about GLAM-Wiki is at https://outreach.wikimedia.org/wiki/GLAM . Its not great... the last concerted effort to improve the movement wide documentation was 2013-ish.

More of the up-to-date "how to" materials are at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:GLAM_learning_patterns

I would be happy to consult with you on questions you have, we can either have a call and/or we can meet during Wikimania. There are also going to be several dozen folk at Wikimania, with very deep experience in various GLAM-Wiki contexts that you could meet (like Barbara who responded earlier).  Because GLAMs have their own professional expectations, and the variety of project types for GLAM-Wiki partnerships, its frequently useful to know the landscape of opportunities and talk to folks who have tried projects similar to what you want to do.

Cheers,

Alex Stinson

Hi Rodrigo,

Congratulations! It would be awesome if you could share whatever info or tips you get in a blog or something so that other GLAM newbies can follow how a GLAM project starts from scratch. I am saying this because I am considering starting a GLAM project but I don't know how or where to start.

Best,
Reem

Hello all,

After some months of discussions and meetings we started this month our first GLAM Project in Brasil.

Finally we added Brazil to the GLAM map [1]. Since it's our first pilot project, we are learning the best way to upload content and organize all info regarding the uploaded files.

Our partner, Immigration Museum of the state of São Paulo[2] is receiving support from Creative Commons Brazil and from our team to adopt CC licenses and publish open content.

That first pilot project[3] will cover a new exhibition that will be launched soon by the museum. During the next months we will discuss regarding massive uploads regarding other exhibitions and internal museum's archives and collections.

Since it's our first project, we will need additional guidance and support. During the last days we received some contradictory information from Commons admins/contributors.

The museum sent created an OTRS ticket to provide info regard the ownership and licenses of the uploaded content and contents that will be added by the museum during the near future[4].

Here[5] you can see the pilot project. All guidance and tips and tricks are welcome ;-)

Best regards
