Dear attendees of the Wikimania Education Pre-Conference, dear subscribers of this mailing list,

on behalf of the organizing comittee, it is my pleasure to announce the session "Education Programmes: Organisations and Practice" which will take place on August 7th, 10 am as part of the Education Pre-Conference.

During the session we want to showcase and discuss the various different models of Wikipedia education programs worldwide. Our focus will solely be on the organizational structure, i.e. how the programs are run and supported. On the one hand to aid new education activists who are looking into starting their own project, on the other hand to provide new ideas for veteran Wikipedia education organizers.

To spark the discussion, we will have speakers from very differently structured Wikipedia education initiatives. Namely. the panel will feature:
* Jami Mathewson of the Wiki Education Foundation
* User:Hubertl from Austria's community run school and university program
* a representative of the succesful Serbian chapter's education policy initiative
* a member of Ação Educativa Brazil.

After they have introduced their project, there will be plenty of time to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the various models and to share experiences.
